[ Oh, looks like Astrid has something to say again - albeit not related to the draft, which she's obviously not on. No, this entry is brought to Luceti by her new attempt to read. Not that she's against reading - she read what little Berk had to offer, back home - but it is not her main hobby or even in the top ten.

But she's trying! Which is...something, anyway. ]

Hey. So, I assume some of the books in the library are from other worlds. I mean - I know they are, but I assume they're from the worlds of people here?

So I thought I might ask if anyone has recommendations. Preferably for something with action. But I'll try anything, I guess. That would make it a lot easier than just picking things at random based on title. ...Which is the worst way to choose a book, apparently. Or my luck is just bad today.

[ And if she sounds mildly uncomfortable asking for book recommendations, it's just because she's asking for book recommendations and that's entirely new and weird. ]

Well, I actually study an ancient language back home, a really tricky one to decipher, though I'm probably the only one who can translate it exactly. Or, well, the only one of my kind, I mean. [Though she is bragging, it's the truth. Relares is an insanely complicated language, and she studied it for years.] So I doubt you'd be interested in a bunch of symbols and stuff you wouldn't understand, y'know?

But I can definitely bring over or help you look for the books I mentioned! I kinda hang around the library a whole lot, so I know my way around pretty well, I think. And I've got one of the two treasure hunting books on me now, if you want it.

Wh--seriously? [That's a first. Most places she knows of at least have a small library! Though at the same time, that's because there really wasn't much to do for the people who aren't working or aren't adventurers or something like that. Going outside the cities and towns is dangerous, considering the monsters around. People have to have things to do. And of course there are all the scholars and schools...]

How come? I mean, I've never really heard of a place that didn't have even a small collection of books and stuff for a library. Or at least a book shop or something. Though I guess coming from someone who used to be surrounded by them at an Institute for a few years, I'm not the one to talk to about that.
